FPI: ADVANCED PROCESS ANALYSIS AND EMISSIONS MONITORING SOLUTIONS

Focused Photonics Inc. (FPI) is a Shenzhen-listed high-tech company (ChiNext: 300203) headquartered in Hangzhou, China, with roots going back to the late 1990s, when our R&D team began developing Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) technology. Since our establishment in 2002, we've grown into a team of around 4,000 people worldwide, built around one core capability: making reliable measurements in the harshest industrial environments.
We earned that reputation first in the steel industry with TDL analyzers, and have since extended the same technology platform deep into oil & gas, refining, and petrochemicals — our in-situ TDL analyzers are running today on sulfur recovery units, cracking furnaces, and flare lines, our CEMS-2000 series continuous emission monitoring systems (ATEX/IECEx certified for hazardous areas) handle SO2, NOx, CO, and mercury compliance reporting at refinery boilers and incineration units, and our portable RLGD-100 laser leak detectors support LDAR walks across tank farms and pipe racks.
What makes FPI a rapid grow is that we cover the full chain from process monitoring to emissions compliance to lab-grade analysis under one technology roof — backed by national-level R&D program participation and a growing international service network across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania — so customers aren't stitching together instruments from five different vendors to run a single unit.
Three Core Solutions for Process & Emissions Monitoring

• Based on TDL technology, the analyser adopts an optical non-contact measurement method, delivering a faster response time.
• Innovative explosion-proof design ensures safe and reliable operation, with easy operation and maintenance.
• The laser light source has a service life of up to 10 years, helping reduce long-term operating and maintenance costs.
2. ProGC Series — ProGC-3600 Industrial Online Chromatography Analyzer

The ProGC series is an industrial online chromatography analyzer developed by FPI, based on over 10 years of research in chromatography technology. It adopts high-precision, program-controlled column switching technology and column system injection technology, enabling rapid analysis of target components. With stable, accurate, reliable, and long-term continuous operation, it has become a core analyzer for industrial process control.
Key Features
• It adopts solid-state column oven technology, maintaining high-precision temperature control within the range of -30°C to 55°C to achieve extremely high accuracy.
• It can be installed close to the sampling point, with low hysteresis, low sample loss, and a low sampling failure rate.
• The modular design reduces on-site column replacement time from 3 days to 3 hours.
• The software intelligently diagnoses the health status of each core component.
3. UTS-2000 Online Trace Total Sulfur Analyzer

The UTS-2000 Total Sulfur Analyzer utilizes ultraviolet fluorescence (UVF) technology for precise, real-time analysis of total sulfur content in gas samples. Engineered in accordance with ISO 20729, this system offers superior sensitivity, an extended measurement range, and excellent selectivity, ensuring accurate results with minimal interference from other compounds. Designed for continuous online monitoring, the UTS-2000 features fast response time and a non-moving parts architecture that enhances long-term stability and system reliability. Measurement results are available via both 4–20 mA analog output and RS485 digital communication, enabling seamless integration into industrial process control systems.
Key Features
• Positive-pressure explosion-proof design for safe and reliable operation in industrial applications.
• Enhanced measurement safety with reduced operating costs through an advanced analytical method.
• Complete oxidation of sulfur compounds into SO₂ via oxygen-rich combustion, achieving up to 100% conversion efficiency.
• High-fidelity total sulfur measurement, closely matching the real conversion pathway of sulfides for improved accuracy.
• Second-level measurement output for rapid detection, supporting both routine standard analysis and fast process monitoring.
Three Customer Cases for Process & Emissions Monitoring
1. LGA-4500IC Laser Trace Gas Analyzer: H2S Continuous Online Monitoring System for a Nickel Hydrometallurgy Project in Indonesia

This project is a typical application of FPI’s LGA-4500IC H2S Continuous Online Monitoring System in an overseas nickel hydrometallurgy process. The customer is a nickel and cobalt hydrometallurgy producer in Indonesia, with a production capacity of approximately 60,000 tons of nickel metal per year. The monitoring point is located at the H₂S process gas / tail gas section of the production unit, where continuous H₂S measurement is required to support process control and operational safety.
Nickel hydrometallurgy involves multiple process stages, including high-pressure acid leaching, solid-liquid separation, precipitation, and tail gas treatment. In this process, H2S concentration is closely related to operating conditions and may fluctuate with changes in production load and process status. As H2S is corrosive and the site environment is complex, the monitoring system must ensure stable sampling, fast response, low-concentration detection, and reliable long-term operation under demanding industrial conditions.
To meet these requirements, FPI supplied the LGA-4500IC H2S Continuous Online Monitoring System. The system enables real-time and continuous monitoring of H2S concentration, helping the customer track key gas parameter changes, support process optimisation, improve tail gas management, and strengthen long-term operational reliability.
2. ProGC-3600 Industrial Online Chromatography Analyzer

After evaluating multiple brands, a major iron and steel enterprise in Vietnam selected FPI’s ProGC-3600 online gas chromatograph to replace its previous Japanese-brand system. This project marked the group’s first-ever adoption of a Chinese-brand gas chromatograph across its global operations.
Following delivery, the ProGC-3600 successfully completed a series of validation procedures, including cross-comparison with manual laboratory analysis, long-term component stability monitoring, and repeatability testing. The instrument demonstrated outstanding performance, with measurement accuracy and response times meeting — and in some aspects exceeding — those of the previously installed imported system. In addition, the customer highly commended the analyzer’s operational stability as well as FPI’s responsive and professional service support.

In a large-scale petrochemical application, FPI’s UV Fluorescence Online Trace Total Sulfur Analyzer provides continuous monitoring of feed gas sulfur levels for a PSA hydrogen production unit. The system ensures operational stability and protects critical catalysts through high-precision, real-time data. Having met all stringent performance benchmarks, this solution serves as the verified alternative to leading US-based instrumentation.
