South Korea buys more Kazakh oil

South Korea more than doubled its oil imports from Kazakhstan in June 2018, the LS reports.

South Korea replaces imports from Iran, which in June fell by 41%.

In general, the import of Kazakhstan's light mixture reached 4.24 million barrels.

It is also noted that Korea has increased supplies from Mexico by 90.2% to 3.01 million barrels.

The country reduces the flow of raw materials from Iran because of the threat of sanctions from the US, since South Korea is one of the closest allies of the USA. The country needs US support on the background of political relations with North Korea.

Meanwhile, the supply of oil from Kazakhstan to Korea in January-April 2018 amounted to 1 million tonnes or $529.5 million.
