Maersk Oil Kazakhstan GmbH, a subsidiary of Maersk Olie og Gas AS (Maersk Oil), is the operator of the Saigak and Dunga fields in the North-western and Western parts of Kazakhstan, respectively. Production operations are currently ongoing at the Saigak field and the first phase of Dunga full field development is in progress. Maersk Oil is one of the world’s top twenty five independent producers of oil and gas. Activities are ongoing in the Danish, British, German and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, Qatar in the Middle East, Algeria and several other countries including Kazakhstan, USA, Brazil and Angola. Current operated production totals some 800,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) of oil and gas per day, or as much as around one per cent of the world’s oil production.
